Another vote for Thom Hogan's Guide to the D850. And if you want to master AF and exposure settings, also get Steve Perry's two books on mastering the AF system and Exposure techniques. If you use flash a lot, consider getting Mike Hagen's book on mastering nikon creative lighting system. His videos are great too.

All the above recommendations are great. If you are "Old School" and prefer an actual Book (remember those? Paper and ink with pictures), I would recommend "Mastering the Nikon D850" from Nikonians Press. Author is Darrell Young. It is thick, kinda heavy, and over 600 pages. Probably "no more informative" than Thom's guide.
Just a different way to get the info.

Actually published by Rocky Nook, not Nikonians Press, as are all of Darrell's other books

Not a book, but Steve Perry has a very good video about the 850, all of the features, how to use them, when to use them, and the video is free. Worth a look.

True. Both are prominently displayed on the cover.

Any recommendations! The only one I have now is David D. Bush Nikon D850 Guide to Digital SLR!

I would recommend everything by Steve Perry at Backwoods Gallery. He is an absolute expert on Nikon and does video to boot. His books are lengthy and well written and not expensive. I am a really good professional photographer albeit retired, and I follow him with interest.

I have two of Darrell Young's books for the D7200 and the D500 both of which are in digital format and cheaper than the printed version. I also have Thom Hogan's digital versions as well. These are my "go to" references. The Nikon user manuals are really useless in my opinion. I guess Darrel and Thom hope it stays that way.

Darrell Young's Mastering the D850 is a good manual -- 650 pages.

You’d be hard pressed to find anything better than the D850 User’s Manual.
