It was a pretty big improvement in my imaging(noise) when I started to dither.

Hi Europa
Yep. I'll force some dithering in the next set of images I take (I think I saw some setting in PHD to help with that). In the mean time I'm going to try using noise removal in the wavelet layers with the Multiscale Linear transform function in Pixinsight. Always more to learn about and experiment with.

Thanks for checking out the photo.
Interestingly one of the subs had a meteor go through it.
See included image of sub before any processing.

I found that using the Multiscale median transform with 5 layers was very useful in removing the color and luminance noise. The new version has much greater detail in the center of the galaxy and in its companion NGC 5195 at the end of the spiral arm and much less color bloching.

Yep the details came out much better when zoomed in. I feel that the image may be a bit overdone and I might try to back down the saturation a bit.

It's a wonderful image!
But I would agree it may be a bit over-done.
However, my display might be giving it that appearance, too.
So I say, Well done!

Now I have a question, if I may....
Is the "N" for Norton Antivirus?
And does it keep the Covid19 Virus away?
Well... I guess that is 2 questions....

Monster light bucket!

I dozed off at the mount last night...

It's not your display, the image is over cooked. I'll be redoing in soon.

In regard to your question (I saw this picture of a home made face mask the other day)
