I have been there. Both as a musician and a photographer.

One of the worst aspects of GAS is the relief from acquiring new equipment lasts only until the next model is announced.
I am not a better musician with a good guitar but I can play a lot better with a good guitar than with a bad guitar.

Exactly!! I’ve also noticed that every time I get my car washed it runs better.
The cartoon is oh so true! However, I've seen experienced woodworkers and experienced photographers easily handle balky/second rate equipment. I'm an amateur in both areas and I can't handle second rate equipment. I definitely care less about the "latest" but good tools are much easier for amateur me to use.

I don't even get that much relief. As soon as I get it home, I'm questioning if it was worth the money.
