The cure is fast becoming far worse than the disease. As a result of the v***s many hospitals have suspended "elective" procedures. That means that many patients with cancer, heart disease, strokes and other life threatening conditions go untreated. Death from drug overdise, suicide etc will also increase. The ddeath rate from the v***s will decrease but the overall deathrate will not. Hospital staff are being furlouhed (SP?) because of lack of patieats. In simple terms the lock down is k*****g people. IT MUST STOP

I agree. And more and more doctors are saying just that which is a good sign.

I would bet that most people who get the anti-body test never had the C***D test...so it doesn't overstate the number of C***D cases identified.

It's two different ways to identify a person who either has it or had it. Both should be counted in total cases.

Why would you get the antibody test if you already tested positive for C***D?

The numbers are not perect...they are an estimate. There have also been instances of identified cases not being included in the death total.

You are missing the point. By including antibody tests in the new cases of C***d they are inflating the number of new cases.

The reason people are getting antibody tests is that some businesses who have reopened are giving those tests to employees. Yes, they are vaild cases of c***d, but it cooks the books to imply that they are new cases. They should be included in the total cases of the v***s, but not in the new cases, which the CDC finally admitted this past week.

Why is it important? Because government officials are using the data on new cases to make decisions whether or not to allow some businesses or even some geographical regions to open. If the number of new cases are inflated by including antibody results then in makes it appear that there is danger in reopening that isn't really there, as those with positive antibodies are neither at risk themselves nor are they carriers that could spread the v***s.

I hope you get the chance to rethink your point.

I'm not going to rethink it. By placing people who test positive on antibody tests into the new case categories they are trying to make it look like states like Texas that have largely reopened are suddenly having a mass of new cases, which they are not.

It is distorting the data and even the CDC admitted that late last week and agreed to separate the data. Decisions about what to reopen and the consequences of reopening are being made based on the total number of new cases. Counting the antibody results will be good eventually because it will make it possible to determine what percentage of the nation actually got the v***s and will allow them to correct the morbidity rate. However, it is terrible policy to count that data now, because it inflates the number of new cases which is causing governors to cause needless economic pain as they justify leaving their states locked down.
