Welcome, Kat. Nice work with camera and paint. To answer your question, sure, I see no reason why you can't contact someone to ask permission to do a painting from a photograph. If you do animal painting you can use any of mine.

Thanks I will post some still life paintings along with the picture I got it from. I did post the cowboy painting that was from a class that was with Robert Warren that taught the class, it is his original design. Kat
