Assailant suffers injuries from fall
Orville Smith,a store manager for Best Buy in Augusta, Ga. told police he observed a male customer, later identified as Tyron Jackson of Augusta, on surveillance cameras putting a laptop computer under his jacket. When confronted the man became irate, knocked down an employee, drew a knife and ran for the door
Outside on the sidewalk were four Marines collecting toys for the Toys for Tots program. Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of the Marines, Cpl. Phillip Duggan in the back; the injury did not appear to be severe.
After Police and an ambulance arrived at the scene, Cpl.Duggan was transported for treatment.
The subject was also transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken ankle, a broken leg, several missing teeth, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, assorted lacerations, a broken nose and a broken jaw... injuries he sustained when he slipped and fell off the curb after stabbing the Marine according to a police report.
Must have been a pretty high curb.

must have kept slipping on a banana peel. Pity (not)
Those curbs can be dangerous!
He got off too easy.
Way back when, before political correctness there was a body found at the bottom of the local canal. The sheriff said at a press conference the body found was wrapped in chains, had 2 broken legs, both arms broken, most of his teeth knocked out and 37 stab wounds on his chest and back.
Sheriff said this black man they found was evidently the counties worst suicide in many years.

The joke was good.

He should also have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
I LOVE a story with a happy ending. ;-) Here in good old Missouri he would be in a heap o trouble by escalating like he did - Everything he did with the knife ramped it up to Assault 1st Degree (Same as attempted murder) and using any force to take the lap top would ramp it up to a Robbery 1st Degree because a knife was involved.
makes me feel good all over!
