On the walk today, I saw the light working through a fence onto flowers. This caught my eye and I took the shot. Is this of interest or just one of my many poor judgments?

A download is necessary.

I love it, Mike. The angled slashes of light on brown dirt are very effective against the circle of color. IMO a terrific composition with engaging result. Good eye!

You are right - you need to click on the download to fully appreciate this! And Linda sums it up - the contrast of textures, colors, and shapes is excellent. I might have walked right by this one, but you put it all together very well.

To my eye the shadows on the ground work well but the one up the middle of the flowers looks like it shouldn't be there.

Yes, it brings immediate interest to the image for me.

That damn fence, R.G., evidently does not fit. Any suggestions on crop or composition?

About all I could think of doing was to emphasise the stripiness enough to turn it into a theme to justify all of the shadows.

For me, the appeal is diminished when the shadows are wrangled into organized form There's a subtle "peek-a-boo" feeling with the original that I find ultra-charming.
