Fort Hancock

This Army Fort can be found at Sandy Hook NJ. My wife and I usually take a trip down there in October. The weather is perfect and the number of people are far lower than during the summer months. Most of Sandy Hook is used for a typical summer day hanging out at the Jersey shore. Enjoying the sand and surf. This fort is at the end of Sandy Hook. Most of the forts building are in much need of repair. As seen in this shot.

I do not think the strange color hue you have introduced is doing the shot any favors. Would be interested to know why you took that direction with the picture?

I shot this building from three angles. To the left, straight on and to the right. I found this one to be most interesting to my eye. As to the color I will simply call it artistic license.
Thanks for looking and commenting. Always appreciated on getting others thoughts.

I go to Sandy Hook often; but, like you, I avoid the summer months. Admission is free all year except from Memorial Day to Labor day. That is an added bonus. Fort Hancock is, by far, the most interesting area for me with the bunkers and the houses on officer's row...and there is even a lighthouse!

The last time we were there they started rehabbing some of the houses on Officers row. Unfortunately some maybe past being saved.
But as you say it is a great place to spend some time in the early fall. The weather is usually perfect. And you can wonder freely without a lot of people.
