That when I pass my husband will sell my gear for what I told him I paid for it.

That is truly funny (and very true). I’ve made a video for my children/spouse to tell them how to dispose of esoteric things...

By the time I leave nothing of mine is going to worth anything so it will all be garbage fodder

My heirs will shake their heads in wonder that people actually took pictures with boxes that had flapping mechanical parts inside :-).

Good morning Bonnie,

I'm in the same position. Sad but true. My wife has always said "He who dies with the most toys - is still dead".

All the best to you and yours - and stay safe,

Terry

Ah! What goes around comes around. Someone might step in (younger relative) and get the real values and sell them at worth.
Your other half might really know the price and is just not saying anything.
It’s not your time to pass, so take more pictures and enjoy the equipment. After you are gone you will have other things on your spiritual mind and won’t care. Thanks for the humor anyway.

My sister will put every thing I own in boxes and put them outside with a sign saying "Free"

That is an excellent idea. I have an inventory video of the contents of my home but never thought of a video regarding distribution above and beyond my will. Thanks for the idea.

I love a man who uses all his play toys to the end and gets his' moneys worth. As the saying goes "one man's trash is another man's treasure."

I never thought of my gear as a future artifact and it set my mind to wandering; which is a common occurrence for me during this quarantine. When my great and great-great nieces and nephews visit the first thing they run to is my - as they call it - "curiosity cabinet". They love to handle and play with my sextant, stereoscope, and fondle my fossil collection of which they are particularly fascinated by the saber tooth tiger tooth. Yes, they shake their heads in confusion and wonder, but what a unique way to share my history and that of the world with new generations. I am extremely fortunate that the kids treasure these small pieces of the past and they have made it clear what treasure(s) they want or have claimed.

Dear Terry,

Yes, we have toys, but we constantly play with them. Yes, I in the past experienced GAS but now I, finally, have what I consider my perfect kit. The only thing that keeps me from adding the Nikon D6 and the 800mm to my kit is the cost. I want to go to Nepal and try to photograph snow leopards in suti so I am saving my photography budget for travel.
