Thank the invisible sky dude.
I hope you're going to check yourself into a nursing home, or is it just the last reply on this thread?

Idaho,

The man is not a "punk"; but rather a spokesman.
The following part of what he said cannot be denied; and your response will no doubt affirm.

“This e******n that’s coming up on every level is so important because what we’re going to be battling is not just a particular individual or a political party. What we’re fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy -- that has become a stronger impulse in American life,”

It only became tribal when your side lost, how is it that you can't see your own role in the condition our country is in? Demonics, you have no self awareness.

Very myopic of you. Are you telling me that the Republicants didn't team up against Clinton or Obama?
Get real for just a second and think about that.

Not at all what I said because we certainly challenged both, in the case of Clinton it was well deserved as he is a sexual predator, in the case of Obama the right was out of bounds with the birth certificate thing, but all the other criticisms of him were fair game.

What you folks have done is taken tribalism to an entirely different level and you have gone so far as to use agencies of the federal government in those efforts. I do not recall members of the Obama administration being chased out of restaurants or publicly humiliated as has been the case with the Trump administration, nor do I recall republican family members disowning their liberal siblings or their liberal friends.

My greatest disappointment was how the Obama Administration weaponized the IRS against the TEA Party and how they were hounded as though they were a scourge by the left.

The most astounding part of that was when Lois Lerner repeatedly invoked the 5th Amendment time after time in the hearing and she got to keep her Federal Pension and suffered no punishment for her actions to restrict the rights of citizens that happened to be an opposing party to the administration in an upcoming e******n.

Uh.....could that be considered interference in the e******n much like the Russian acquisition..?

Frank, I do like it. The burden of proof is on the accuser and in this case there was a trail of documents with her name on them that illustrated her abuse of the power of her position at the IRS.

The largest part of my frustration of the abuse of power was in the outcome more than her refusal to answer the questions before her. That part further increased my dislike for embedded people in positions that believe that they are above the law...other than the law that she constantly used to her advantage which loudly showed her guilt.

I just read through this thread and it seems to me that each side is blaming the other for causing the very same problems (tribalism, d******eness et all) Good ideas and bad ideas always have many contributors and arguing who is most to blame is backward. The issue is now, the "present" we give to ourselves. The need is leadership... get us out of these problems. It is frightening but I don't see that happening; what I see is the continuing bickering and finger pointing. Rome burns while Nero fiddles seems to apply to our present state of politics.

Like it or not, this is causing America to lose its leadership position in today's world. There are many examples but a recent one is Europe's failure to back the US wording at the WHO's 73rd World Health Assembly. Instead, Europe opposed Trump / Pompeo's call for criticism of China and substituted wording that did not criticize China and, inferentially criticized the US for d******eness.

Whether we agree or not about Trump's leadership, the world clearly does not approve and, as a result, China is benefitting. If you can't see the danger and threat then you are part of the danger.
