I am a Fuji fan but a friend has a Nikon D40 and I was surprised, when looking at his camera (briefly), that the LCD display only shows technical info and not the view through the lens. After all, it is a digital SLR!

I understand that this is termed 'live view'

Does the Nikon D40 have the facility to view the photo, you are about to take, via the LCD screen? And if so how do you find it in the menus?

I am sure some of you know the answer to this.
