This redwings black bird would not give up. I've never seen anything like it .. What was going on here? ANYBODY KNOW??

I have seen this happen, nest nearby probably.

I've never seen that. Probably protecting its nearby nest. Excellent capture, by the way.

Red Wing Black Birds are very aggressive if you are near their nest. I've had them drive at me to drive me away

I believe that SqBear is correct. I've seen this "mobbing" behavior from several different birds against Great Blue Herons at the ponds where I photograph.
