Excellent image Dave. Was this a focus stack by any chance?

Hi. Jack,
Thanks for the compliment!
No, Not a focus stack. it was a 12-bit raw capture using one and 1/3 EV of extra raw DR by EBTR made with the “wide” 1X camera of an iPhone11ProMax.

Another example of depth cues from the sky. I can imagine how magical it would be to be standing there when those reeds are fully grown and whispering quietly and swaying in a gentle breeze.

Hi, Coz,
“Magical” effect indeed, especially the view from the required step ladder (which I do have strapped to the top of my car). Those Phragmites grow pretty tall!

Beautiful sky! Always pocket your i-phone when roaming, just in case.

Thanks, cameraf4,
I agree that the best camera is the one at hand!

Nice shot, well composed and with a dramatic sky that adds interest.

Hi, camerapapi, for looking and for the compliment re: composition; the sky was due entirely to Cosmic generosity!

Great sky and that is one of those pictures I could hang and look wonderingly at as I past by every day. Some pictures have one subject while some set you looking and wondering for what may be there.

Thanks, Tjohn, for the compliment and you thoughtful comments.

Gorgeous, Dave. Love everything about it! Next time you feel like getting involved with a "cell phone vs. real camera" debate, be sure to post this

Thank you Linda; as time passes that debate tends to rear its head less and less often, especially now that raw capture - and often with EBTR- is more commonly being used with smartphone captures.

Indeed it is...and only eight miles down the road from our home!

Well done! It's sharp from front to back. I just have a 6S. Can you share what app you used?

Certainly!
The Lightroom mobile app - a free app, I might add - supplies a virtual camera by which a raw capture can be performed, and then can be processed in the ACR manner upon which Lightroom has been based.
I should add, however, that this is the only iPhone I have used to render raw captures.
Please let us know the results you get with the 6S!
Best regards,
Dave
