Gilbert

Gillie is sitting on his favorite rock in the spring with some color behind him. I reduced the brightness of the color although I did like it (I kind of like primary colors) but I thought it detracted from Gillie. Comments welcome.

Taken from the upstairs window, Gillie is about 50' away. Used the 200-500. Lightroom edits only, no Photoshop.

What a handsome cat, and you caught a great expression, as if he is really taking your measure. I'm sure I like this version better than if the flowers were brighter.

It's obvious who owns that piece of ground . The flowers could easily have overpowered the subject (visually, anyway). Perhaps a slight crop from the top will keep things a bit more balanced.

He was sitting there minding his own business when I opened the upstairs window and took a couple shots. He looked around and finally found where the clicking noise was coming from so I got the shot of him glaring at me for disturbing his meditation.

Very engaging, love his attitude! A square crop makes a nice story too, IMO

Lovely shot of Gillie and the flowers. I think I would crop a bit as well, but a great shot.

Less environmental, more attitude

Gillie has plenty of attitude. After I took that shot last evening, Gillie disappeared and wouldn't come back in until well after my usual bedtime.

There is no question as to who is the boss man.

Nice overall shot, great composition and nicely processed however everything else fades in to obscurity by the presence of Gilbert. How can you call that magnificent Cat Gillie? He's a Gilbert!

We originally got two cats, which we called Gilbert and Sullivan. Called them Gillie and Silly. Sullivan failed to come home one night about 14 years ago, probably met a fisher.
So Gilbert is really a last name. The first name would be William.
So he occasionally gets called Bill the Cat, after another famous internet cat (q.v.).
