Gonna do something I have never done before. I am going to post a bunch of images over a period of time from the same shoot. Mainly cause when I starting poking around this 10-year old folder I remembered what a fun shoot it was and how I got a range of images I like. I will try not to make them too repetitive, but as the viewer you are free to look or not look over time. I was going to go back and possibly reedit some with new software and (maybe) better technique or "vision" but decided just to post them as I had processed them back when taken (mostly cause I am too lazy to spend that amount of time and I like seeing what I was doing in post 10-years ago). Not all are winners, some I already see the warts, but I like them and the model and the shoot and the memory and I hope people here can enjoy at least some of them.

So far so good, I like them both, especially the first. I might have cropped a bit differently but that's totally subjective. Thanks!

I like the lighting and idea of the second, though the extreme head tilt and almost "severed" left arm detracts. Great concept though so keep them coming.

I liked the extreme head tilt, elongated neck, stretched neck and torso, the lack of seeing the models face makes it a bit more interesting to me (i tend to do that a fair amount I notice in many of my shots). The severed arm, yea, I wish I had asked her to move it, that is a wart of this image. Thanks for the comment.

Two interesting diverse studies of nudes.

I have taken several live study drawing classes. The best feature of these were the vastly differing models that were made available, multiplied by their poses. Drawing or photographing made no difference. But each session opened new visions, and understanding.

Personal anecdote: My worst (read "hardest") model was a young lady whose daytime job was teaching Yoga classes. Yes, she used many Yoga poses. The worst day caused me to focus on the still ensemble on the professor's desk! No matter what sketch of her I did, I could not draw her "straight".

I am sure that your shots went a long way to improving your overall photography skills.

Not counting the border what was the post processing technique you used?

Honestly Fotoartist, I don't really remember for most of these images the post process. The images are over 10-years old so much of my current software I did not even have back at that point. BW conversion likely was done in Channel Mixer (PS version CS4, what I still use) as I don't think I had Topaz Labs software at the time. Grain was added via some action I had found online (much better stuff available today). Tinting I don't remember, probably like the grain, some action I found online at the time and tweaked in PS. RAW conversion with Canon DPP, Camera was my first digital camera (Canon 5D). I never had a set workflow (one of my flaws), I usually just messed around till I like something and saved it and always asked a year later "now how did I do that?". I always wished PS would allow you to save some notes or the history screen outlining what you did for future review.

Thanks for sharing.
I just cropped the first image and liked it with the bottom cropped a bit.
Like the images and the commentary.

That was my thought...I like the balance a bit better and my eyes keep going to that floor looking for a reflection for some reason. Probably because of the pattern on the floor.

Good feedback. I played with the cropping originally. I liked the "unbalanced" aspect of it, with a large "open, light" area in the front (without the texture/grain of the wood, I may not have liked it as much), giving way to the blackness, for me it makes her seem more distant, aloof, untouchable. I liked her direct stare, but the balance of the image puts her breasts and hands smack dap (for me at least) as where my eyes are drawn (maybe that rule of thirds). Now I know "eyes being drawn the the breasts of a beautiful nude woman" sounds weird in a nude photo forum, but honestly that usually isn't the case for me, but for this photo it really is more then usual. And the model had the physique to enhance that drawing in of my eyes, so that doesn't hurt.

#1 makes me think of a drawing model when they realize that her pose is not going to be quite right for a long pose session (multiple 20 minute blocks of the same pose). The expression is perfect. I was a drawing artist model for a while and more than once I picked a pose that was just too athletic for the amount of time I needed to hold it (think Atlas holding up the world).

#2 has an abstract disconnected quality that I think is highly effective. MJC925 puts it well - "unbalanced" and "aloof, untouchable". Bringing up the far arm (so its more visible) might be helpful.
