Great photo and story! I'd love to poke around in there. Probably a huge fireplace in the family room. Would like to know if there are clues as to the previous/original owner, the year built, why abandoned etc. I have friends in Salisbury, wish I could come to visit/investigate, but currently "sheltering in place"...

The house and property are on Hwy 801 between Cooleemee and Bermuda Run and before you get to the community of Advance. Stay safe.

Don't know any history of this property. It is a wooded (until clear cut) piece of property that was on a sharp curve on Hwy 801 between Cooleemee and Bermuda Run in North Carolina. One end of the property being cut is a stand of cane or bamboo which I understand is a lot like kudzoo, once it gets started it is hard to control. The other house and barn are in the clear now also.
