Media lying during Trump presidency.
Here is an interesting story documenting incidents when the media has either outright lied, or at best misled people regarding Trump and his administration.
https://sharylattkisson.com/2020/05/50-media-mistakes-in-the-trump-era-the-definitive-list/All told Attkisson documents 132 times the media got it wrong. It seems that Attkisson had gone to a lot of trouble to prove that there is media bias.
For those of you who will claim that this isn't a reliable source Sharyl Attkisson is a five-time Emmy Award winner and recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting.
Ok, it a case of the black cat calling the black pot black. What else is new?

Bill, did you bother to read what Attkisson wrote? There is something wrong when the media fails to fact check and labels opinions as if it is news. I doubt that you read the story, since you responded more quickly than what it would have taken to read the article.
It's not like Attkisson is a conservative. She just had the integrity to fact check.

What should be worried about is for how many years the MSM has been lying and misrepresenting “news”...
I cannot ever recall so many retractions/errors/apologies/retirements/firings.
I recognize that. That's why Bill's immediate response surprised me. It isn't positive about Trump, but it is a serious indictment of the main stream media and their lack of integrity.

Everyone makes mistakes.
I worked in the media until the C****-** layoffs. Not checking a source is not making a mistake. Trying to hide opinion in a news piece is not a mistake. In fact, it is supposed to be grounds for termination. The rules for journalism are supposed to require that any opinion or editorializing is stated as such rather than disguised as news. Most of the errors that are listed there can not be explained away by making mistakes. They are not following the rules of journalistic integrity, which is why Trump calls it f**e news and why distrust of the media is at an all-time high.
A good example is what Chuck Todd did Sunday on Meet the Press. He selectively edited a tape of William Barr. That in and of itself would not have been a problem. However, he then used the edit, which was missing a key clarification to make a claim about Barr that was obviously not true when you listen to all that Barr said.
That is not making a mistake. That is deliberately misleading people, which is what many in the media are currently doing. I don't expect anyone to go to the trouble to do this, but if you go back and look at Obama press briefings, which were few and far between you will see a notable difference in both the kind and style of questioning that he received compared to Trump.
Mistakes happen. When they do happen reporters and news sources are expected to issue apologies clarifying what the mistake was and what the correct information is. That clarification is supposed to have the same prominence as the original story. However, that is not what is happening. The New York Times will "make a mistake" on page one and then issue an apology on page 23 so that no one sees it.
That is a deliberate attempt to mislead. That is what Attkisson is documenting. Misconduct that would normally lead to reporters and in some cases editors being fired.
132 major retractions, errors, misrepresentations, and lies by the Main Stream media in 3 years! Yet they call Trump's meant to be exaggerations and opinions a list of lies. Don't forget that big Whopper.

Likewise. Notice how as soon as I say what responsible journalists are required to do the left quits commenting on the thread.

Perhaps that is due to Fox News being less honorable.
