Every year I have about 3 or 4 wood ducks using my box's in the yard. I photograph this event every year. Around 2015 National Wildlife magazine featured one of my photos for a full page spread. These photos taken on 5/4/2020

How wonderful to have Wood ducks in a box in your yard!
Great images!
Care to share some of the nest box and its placement?
I live along a river so I have a big advantage over most folks. I set the box anywhere from 5 feet to about 20 feet from the water ( I have four). I can see each box from my Kitchen window. Many times during the incubation period I catch the female going in or coming out to feed while incubating. I open the box daily when I know the ducks are getting ready to hatch. They ALL hatch on the same day. The very next day usually around 8:00 am mom calls them out of the box. They are thirsty and hungry.
I live on a boat on the Gulf of Mexico in a marina and have 10 Redhead ducks living year round under my swim platform attached to the boats the stern. We were hoping to have little ducklings this year, but no little ducklings. I don't believe we had any last year either. We (neighbors and I) really enjoy having them here.
Wonderful set, thanks for sharing! Please keep us updated on the bunch.
