Adding Alt Text to Photos

Does anyone have a good method of adding Alt Text to a photo? I would like to find a way to do it in the JPEG file (in Explorer) - vs posting (on something like Facebook) and then adding the Alt Text.
Thanks...

??Define Alt Text.

Alt text has one meaning in HTML code.
"Alt Text" is displayed when an image fails to load.
In this respect it is not part of the image, it is part of the website coding.

I use Photoshop Elements. If you have MS Office or similar, import the JPEG to PowerPoint and add text there, saving the result back to a JPEG.

Are you referring to text on the image?

Still not sure what “Alt text” is.
Klingon, maybe?

Alt text is used by screen readers, which are browsers used by blind and visually impaired people, to tell them what is on the image. It helps with website SEO.

Not part of (contained in) the photo though, it's coding on the website.

That is code found in the html markup of a webpage.

for example <img border="0" src="./path/to/photo" alt="this is the alt text" height="10%" width="25%">

The src can be either a relative path or a absolute path and the height and width can be a percentage or number of pixels.
