I'm not sure what plants these are - or even whether they are a "desired plant" or a "weed" - but they add color around our house right now, and are certainly more desirable than the dandelions nearby. I'll try to watch for them next year and see whether they look better a few days earlier {some would be buds, but no brown areas}.
I'm seeing things I've never seen before in our yard - I suspect it is from most of my outdoors time there this year.

A weed is a plant in the wrong place. Learned that in Agriculture.

Yes, you are correct.
I guess I should wonder if my Mother planted it on purpose.
They are very pretty against the house, but they are situated so you have to look to see them {there are only three plants}.
