A word of thanks and appreciation to all who looked in and commented. Srfmhg, good move. Last I heard, one of our Hogs was in NZ when they shut the place down. Can't remember his name but I hope he was able to get home safely. His images were of many different places and (almost) makes me want to go back (if it wasn't so darn far). Byjoe, would like to see your shots of the place. Has it changed much in 10 years?
Again, thanks everyone and stay safe.

Strange year, this. Spent nearly all of February traveling to the other side of the world ... got back in time for the lock down.
Beautiful country to visit, cameraf4. The shots are great!

Nice series. I never got to the South Island but did make it out to White's Island. I'm sure no one is setting foot on it since it blew, but it was an interesting, if not daunting, tour.
OK, now I'm jealous. None of the excursions on our trip were going anywhere near Aoraki. I had really hoped to catch a glimpse. Like your images, David. Bet the memories are even better.
Thanks, cameraf4. Yes, the memories are very nice. So much so that I wanted to go back in 2017 (and did). The 2017 trip also visited parts of eastern Australia, another place I'd not yet been. It was a wonderful trip (arranged by John Hall's Alaska).

Jack and Timothy, thanks for checking my shots out. I think that my trusty 28-200mm served me well.

I have the 28-300 f3.5. Not super happy with anything more than about 35-40mm. Great lens for video work, though. My D7200 luvs it!

I have that one, too. Good lens if I am walking around, hand holding, and don't know what I will find. Grab shots, if you will. But my 28-200mm Nikkor is nearly as small as my 50mm and only half-again as heavy as the 50. Also, it has, I have found, a much deserved rep as a very sharp lens (for a "super zoom"). I never leave home without it.
