So, the US and other countries are ready to play Russian roulette with their citizens in the name of economy and political advantage.

I find nothing wrong with that, absolutely nothing.

This might surprise you but consider this:

The fools who think it is over because someone says so and place themselves at risk for no reason will be the one paying the price sooner than later. What is wrong with that? Please tell me.

Going onto the ripple effect, politicians who support the reopening will lose their support base, not because of popularity issue but because their die hard fans will have died and not hard, believe me. Many will see the error of their ways and blind support too late, from the inside of their graves. So the fan base is gone for good. What is wrong with that? Please tell me.

The economic argument will go away. The idea to reopen at any cost will back fire when workers become ill the rest will think again about going back to work in dangerous conditions. That will create a vacuum of workers and to get the few desperate to work corporations will need to up the salaries. This in turn will create the beginning of a galloping inflation considering that profit is more important than workers. Hopefully workers will simply revolt. What is wrong with that? Please tell me.

It is not about the US but a worldwide issue, sorry.

Keep the local politics out.

Thank you.

There appears to be more at stake here than what you suggested. There is more than the economy. There is more than a lifestyle. What seems to be proposed is a little security for your freedoms. Being American that is our most cherished possession that we have. Americans played along with this (after all it seemed a good thing) for a while until they seemed to go overboard and want to control every aspect of your lives. And there are those that want to blame our government when it is the Chinese who gave us the problem. Is it because they do not see any reason to punish China or is it just easier the other way? Our people are not stupid and know when we are being manipulated. Americans have pride and they want to work. They do not want a nanny state.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your own box.

In case you have not noticed there is no criticism of the 'demonstration' but a simple application of the result of being 'free' when we should all be self disciplined.

Personally I would send folks known to have the virus in order to salute and hug all the "freedom fighters", after all they freed them from their bed for a short time.

Yes, a form of natural selection. The virus is not afraid of the Assault Rifles at the Michigan Capitol. The virus is more than eager to jump from one to another in the packed group... it would be interesting to use the data as the basis for a technical study.

The problem is that it won't be just the "base" who die. There are people whose choice is either work under unsafe conditions or starve and become homeless. The solution is to keep those people afloat with government money.

I think the rationale is that there will be only a small increase in the number of deaths, but businesses will make money, and that's what it's all about. We might be able to add a billion dollars to our economy while killing only a few thousand people. Many seem to consider that worthwhile. Remember what Dr. Oz said. If we open the schools, the kids will "be safe at school," and we will lose only about 2% of them.

I think you should hold a party for all your friends that feel the same way. Maybe there will be so many that you can hire a large hall. Bring food and drinks, and pass them around. Encourage all you know to do the same.

Please.

In principal, I see nothing wrong with what you say. In practice, particularly because so many people are carrying the disease without exhibiting symptoms, it is not just the idiots out there that are affected, but those that are trying to distance themselves but may be infected by others with little regard for protective behavior. Like health care workers that have no say in treating patients, whether or not they are infected through their own acts of stupidity. I believe anyone that wants to disregard social distancing should be required to sign an affidavit stating they refuse treatment, if they become ill from COVID.
