I started printing with my Canon Pro9000 Mark II Printer.
I need to purchase new ink and paper.
I would appreciate advise regarding whether I should consider other inks, rather than Cannon ink? Also ideas regarding the best photo paper for my printer would be helpful. I photographic scenics, birds, flowers and people primarily in black and white.
Thanks you,
Bob Neger in Burlingame California

I have a Canon all-purpose MX 9200 series printer. For the past year or so i have been getting my ink from 4ikjets... on line. I have been very pleased with that decision. No problems at all. It seems to me that they are lasting longer for me. “Seems”... not scientific. Now understand that I use it for general printing. I don’t print my photography. For what it’s worth.

Can’t talk about paper.

Have not had good luck using inks at one tenth the price of OEM ink

I use both a Canon (8 cartridges) and an HP (2 cartridges) printer I have never had good luck with anything but native cartridges. Pricey but this is not a bargain-basement hobby.

Watch Jose Rodriguez Youtube videos regarding refilling your cartridges with ink from precision colors.

Their website is https://www.precisioncolors.com. Signature Edition ink is supposed to be closets thing to oem ink out there.

Unless the cost of ink is too high for your budget, I'd stay away from 3rd party inks. While they look okay initially, fading over time is much worse than with Canon inks. If you are going to use 3rd party, Precision inks is probably the best.

I have a Canon printer and when I need ink I just take the cartridge down to Costco and get it refilled. I have not had any problems. As far as I am concerned ink is ink.

This argument has been fought hundreds of time on UHH. It's a matter of personal experience. I have used third party inks for over a decade, and have never had a problem with photo print quality or printer operation. Having said that, it's important to have the right supplier. If you buy the lowest price stuff on ebay, you will not be happy with the results. 1ink.com is one of the reputable companies. I have found their inks to be excellent, and they have a money back guarantee if the ink is not equal to OEM in every way. >Alan

Thank you, I have also considered third party ink, but was not aware that Costco will refill old cartridges. To me, that seems worth checking out.
