Those are really good. You used short lighting which I understand is better than broad lighting when photographing women. A portrait photographer who does critiques at our camera club jokingly says "Don't use broad lighting on broads". I don't think that's a hard and fast rule though. I have made portraits of women - some are short lighting and some are broad lighting.

Nice portrait work. Lovely young girl, too. (Is it ok to say that?) You must be proud.

Thanks! She enjoyed it as a break from her shutdown monotony, too.

Thank you! It was a rather simple setup. A Digibee 800 on a boom with a 36" white shoot-thru umbrella, a 36" white reflector on the opposite side, triggered with Cybersync transmitter. The Digibee was set to about -3.00, so recycle time was pretty quick. I was able to occasionally fire my D850 @ 7 fps and had very few dark frames. She was in a good mood and very cooperative. It felt good to be shooting again.

Darn right it's OK to say that. Nothing at all wrong with appreciating beauty, and expressing it.
She's quite a wonderful person.

I also have Paul C Buff DigiBee DB800 strobes (two of them). I like that they're compact and have a powerful LED modeling lamp. The recycle time is 1.5 seconds for 100%. It's 0.5 seconds for 50%. Firing your D850 at 7 fps is a little fast. I've always just had my camera in single shot mode and waiting a couple of seconds between shots.

Did you get their model 7UR umbrella reflector? It spreads out the light 180 degrees to better fill umbrellas with light. I use one when I'm using umbrellas.

Yep, I have a few of them. I use them with my Einsteins, too.
