Excellent shot Ken, lovely light and composition.

Thanks, Sylvia. I was adjusting settings when he showed up. I had enough time to get it close.

I see them eating mushrooms on the ground all the time, never carrying one.

I guess I never noticed because I never saw one with something so large in its mouth. Thanks for looking, Chief.

Not mushrooms, but the squirrels in our neighborhood loved my tomatoes. They would roll them out into the driveway to eat the seeds and leave a dreadful mess. I had to stop growing tomatoes. I hate squirrels - just bushy tailed rats.

Great shot....it's always so much fun when we see something like that for the first time!

I agree. They photograph well in some cases, though.

Not around Portsmouth, NH but around Fairbanks, Alaska I used to see them carrying off bright orange mushrooms.

To heck with the mushroom. The real story is the lighting.
I don't think that you could have done better in a studio.
I must also add, WOW!

I never saw that Ken but they used to sit in the bog of my pond and eat my water hyacinths.
