Although the sky was a bit turbulent last night I had to try out the new telescope. The first image below is a closeup of the southern part of the moon at 4000mm focal length. While examining the image closely I noticed a couple of faces. Our brains seems hardwired to pick out faces even where none exist. The second image is an extreme crop near the edge of Clavius crater where I noticed a couple of faces and outlined them in the photo. (There are lot more to find for those inclined to do so). All questions, comments and suggestions are welcome.

This psychological phenomenon is known as Pareidolia. I have a collection of a few of my own. I posted one on this site in 2013 under the heading "Kind'a spooky"

Yep I outlined a couple of those that were easier to see. There are many there.
