I noticed today several threads that have new posts on them even though the threads were started years earlier. Have not done an exhaustive search but found threads started in 2014, 2016, and 2018 that have been resurrected with new posts.
Are people so bored that they are relegated to looking at antique threads to comment on?
Boredom might be one reason. I have theories that point to worse.
Before I did not have the time to run through all of the posts. Now, all I have is time. I am guilty of digging up and resurrecting some of the old posts.

No problem reading old posts. It's always good to be in danger of learning something.
However, there's no need to answer old posts. It's likely that the OP will even have forgotten that (s)he wrote the post several years ago. There are apparent confirmations of that in other posts on UHH. At any rate, if someone has asked a question long ago, either they got the answer or they gave up looking here for it. Responding to an old post will not help the OP.
Helping boredom is a whole nother thing.
