The Vello Shutterboss II from B&H for 49.95 is a very good unit. I have three of them for various cameras. In addition to the shutter release you can set them up for interval shots, delay shots, other functions. They sell this same unit under several names like Godox, etc. I never paid full price as these units are often on sell by someone for 29.95. Buy from a reputable dealer and you won't have to worry about cheap copies from China. While they all are most likely made in China, someone over there will make copies of almost everything using cheaper materials but which look like the better know brands. The Nikon remote sells for around 27.00 but only does shutter release and has no other functions.

I got a Vello unit but the one I got tied up the hot shoe and from time to time I wanted to use fill flash.. I got a very small Canon unit that works well now. I remember it costing under $30. Note on the Canon unit... It needs to be roughly aimed at the left side of the camera as the pick up is there.
EG... If you are shooting on a tripod and are on the right side... you may think it doesn't work..

There are multiple units (many cheaper) than the Vello that certainly look to have very same/similar
functionality.

Neewer and Godox as examples

Are these the same as the Vello (repackaged) or even cheaper copies?

I don't mind the extra cost if the product (Vello) is a superior product but see no reason to pay extra for essentially the same product.

Thanks

Yes, I have been advised to use a good Shutter release in my learning my favorite Photo-pastime, "Landscape Photography. I have learned much from following a Professional Landscape Photographer whose name is Mark Denney. you can find his very good learning videos on UTube, just type in his name. He has a whole series of helpful suggestions and advice for any Photographer interested in Landscape Photography.

I think all three of those units are the same. If anyone knows otherwise, please respond.

I believe your camera has a shutter delay setting, and might even have a shutter release timer.
