I am trying to transfer some images from my smartphone(lg rebel 4) to my pc,but the transfer program I used called phototransfer transferred the images ok to my pc ,but they were of extremely poor quality; pixelated, magnified etc.
So what is the best method to transfer images as described above to a pc(or flash drive)) which will be of good quality. I am using windows 10. I want to do this to increase my cellphones internal memory. Does it make any difference in final image quality whether you use a wi-fi transfer or a usb cable technique. And if a usb transfer is recommended what type of usb cable do you use. Thanks! And I hope all is well with all my fellow uhhers!!

Simple transfer can not and does not alter anything in a file. It simply transfers it whole. Your problem is somewhere else. Possibly you transferred thumbnails or something, rather than what you thought you were transferring. ??? Post example.
I just plug my Android phone into the computer and use Windows Explorer to copy/move files between the two.
I even put some images that are on the computer onto the phone.
Explorer doesn't alter the file size.
The phone is just another storage location (logical drive).
I did that all the time. Never use a software for the transfer.
I simply email it to myself, so that when I open the email on my PC I can just download the file.
You don't need a program to transfer photos. Just plug your phone into your USB port, open the folder, and drag the photos to your desktop or hard drive.
look into a program/app named"Feem". That's all it does is move files from PC to Android or visa versa.
All you need is both devices on the same network

I don't use a transfer program at all - just plug in the phone to a USB port, and use Windows Explorer to copy and paste images.
You can then in turn plug in your flash drive and copy and paste the images from your hard drive to the flash drive.

That works for a few files. If you want to transfer a few hundreds files it would take a long time.
Windows explorer you need to use. There you copy/paste the original data.

I use two methods:
1. Using an SD card in my Android phone, I take the SD card out and use a card reader and transfer via Win Explorer or Lightroom
2. I have a Nikon camera and use Nikon Imagespace to upload file to cloud and download to PC. This works well when I am away from my PC and/or if I have several files to up load. It is a relatively easy and quick.

Just connect your phone with the cable and use explorer to copy to the PC.
Long shadow has the right answer. Just plug your phone into the PC's USB port and transfer using Windows File Explorer. That transfer program you’re using is the culprit.

My phone is in a case, I just plug the cable in.
I have two camera apps. One will not store to the SD card.
