Wondering if the Nikon 1.4 teleconverter is compatible with the Sigma 150- 600 Sport lens? I looked at the compatible list on Nikon, but it only lists Nikon lenses. I know the Sigma 1.4 is compatible with the sport lens, but I do not know about the Nikon teleconverter. Can you help?
Thanks

Will

As a rule, the best combination of TCs and lenses are those by the same manufacturer. Sigma TC-1401 and TC-2001 for the Sigma 100-400 C and Sigma 150-600 C & S. So, depends on your definition of compatibility.

It will not fit. Get yourself a Sigma 1.4 teleconverter. B&H has very good used ones for around $160.00

The Nikon teleconverter will not improve the image on your Sigma, it can only degrade it. Same with the Sigma teleconverter.
There has not been a teleconverter yet made that improves image quality.
I strongly suggest you work on getting closer to your pray. Also get a cropped sensor camera that will basically do the same thing. And if you have a cropped sensor camera then you really need to work on getting closer to your pray.
Any teleconverter will darken your image and cause your auto focus to slow down. Never a good thing.
Most teleconverters work best on Prime fast lenses like a 300 2.8, 500 4, 600 4, they work next best on fast zooms like the 200-400 4, or 70-200 2.8, they work WORST on slow zooms like a 200-500 and a 150-600.
TIMHO.

Good advice. That’s what I use with my Sigma lens.

I have the Nikon 1.4 versions i and iiie. The metal on the flange is designed such that one fits and the other does not. I honestly forget which is which and can check for you if important... Pm me. But the answer that nikon 1.4 does not fit is wrong. Some do, some don't.

I have the Nikon TC14EIII and I have done some very close examination of the images when it is used with no see able degrading of the image. Nikon TC’s are usable on specific Nikon lenses only. Have tried the Tamron 1.4 and it was absolutely horrible.
