As an old lawman, I appreciate what you have been through in your life. Like you, I do not enjoy seeing pictures which have been doctored an overcooked. Sometime its hard to know if you are seeing reality. Enjoy the hog and happy shooting.

I have been doing photography approximately 40 years. It amazes me how you can freeze time. I have done weddings, senior pictures landscapes little leagues and portraits as an amatuer and enjoying every minute of it. I just wish I was good at editing and keeping them organized on my computer, I'm not very handy with the computer. I also like the natural photos without touch up. I look forward to viewing all the wonderful photos and getting advice from all of you, thank you.

Welcome. My son just semi-retired as a police officer in Texas to devote more time to his growing model airplane/jet and model battery business. I shake my head a bit when I hear about the praise being heaped on the health care workers During the Covid 19 pandemic. Not that they don’t deserve the praise; they most certainly do. However, police officers risk their life from their first day on the job until their last. EVERY DAY! Don’t get me started...

Welcome brother! Some advice from a fellow retired LEO. Find a community college nearby that has a photography class and take one. While I only shoot monochrome film, I am mixed in class with the digital folks and we feed off each other and have been doing this for years. We all have become better photographers because of each other. And watching them edit images on the computer is a skill as necessary for the best photographs as are my skills in the wet darkroom.

One other thing. Don’t talk politics here.
