With all this time on my hands I have been playing around with editing. I really like Ansel Adams' Black & White photos. While taking a photography class in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, our Instructor took us to this place. I did not want to capture the same photo as Ansel did, but I did shoot in the same area that he shot one of his photos at (I am not comparing myself to him, I just like his black & white photos) the angle is not the same as Ansel's shot, just the same area.

Very nice capture. Unless I am mistaken, your shot was made by turning about 45 degrees to the right from the direction Ansel took his iconic shot. It's hard to point one's camera in any direction there without capturing a magnificent vista. I like your treatment and capture of the subject landscape a great deal. I will look forward to more of your posts.

Nice work with the black and white--folks need to see your download version to get the full strength of the image.

Your photography started out great, Brenda, and continues to get better and better. The time, effort and study you put into it certainly shows. This image captures your attention with the mountains and holds it with all the detail. Great composition and black and white work. It would look great hanging on your wall.

Thank you! I felt the same standing there looking at it in person. The Tetons are very majestic. The US has many areas of beauty to photograph and share.

You are correct, it is about 45 degrees to the right. I believe when Ansel Adams shot his it was also from a higher angle, from the top of a pickup truck.

Thank you, John. I have been learning from some great instructors. Matt Suess was the instructor at this week long class. He is very knowledgeable and conveys instructions in easy to understand words.
