From Today. NYTimes - Photographers
Mark great post. I have a few folks who consider NYTimes fake news. In Florida now back in PA a gentlemen I was friendly with would say when he first saw me "Did you read the NYTimes today and laugh".
The time Video and photography investment has make in a creative powerhouse for imagery and
short great video reports. The photographers coronavirus diary is great.
The news channel MSNBC is using stills and titles with good music. Their shots of virus thank you to the medical warriors and people with family afflicted is a stunningly beautiful commercial.
Stills and art seem to come back in sad times of stress.
A former Italian President was interviewed the other day. He said the he see's a renaissance
coming after this awful pandemic. Through the ages this is what happened.
I wish you good health. And I am ready for people like you and an
art world again.
Thanks Mark it was very interesting.
Damn! Blew me away. GORGEOUS photos and thoughtful narratives...

Mark, great post. I have been a journalist for over 35 years, and the NYT and the Washington Post are the only two excellent newspapers left. The article you cited is just another example of what a great newspaper could provide. I know many people feel those two papers are manufacturers of fake news -- if only they know what vetting processes are in place. Journalism is a craft that have to be learned. They are strict procedures that must be followed to write a story, unlike some of the other news outlets.

I feel you have insight and experience about journalism. Thanks for the reply. I don't think there is "fake news" by either WP or NYTimes. Recall who seemed to have invented the phrase.

This was in my NYT newsletter this morning but I didn't have time to read it. I would have completely forgotten about going back if I hadn't seen your link. Thanks so much!
Andy
Thanks, Andy. Glad it reminded you.
Stay safe

The concept seems to be simple: if you don't like the news that you read from a responsible news reporting organization, just call it 'fake news'. And know that you are right because it 'feels good'. The subjective part of the brain has won out, oh my,it feels so good!
Thanks Mark. It makes us all think more about what we have.
To others here....enjoy and think about the people...not the politics.

And yet I am still too cheap to get a subscription.
As you all know, but it is worth repeating: a free press is essential to the health of a democracy.
