Governor of GA to begin opening businesses - What will you do?
This Friday, the Governor of Georgia will begin to allow small businesses to reopen - massage parlors, tattoo parlors, hair salons/barber shops, etc. (but not how to disinfect between each customer). He waited, like the Governors of many other states waited, for the President to say it was OK to close the state due to the C****-** infection rate.
Now, in Georgia, the medical professionals of this state expect Atlanta's C***d 'peak' to occur a little after May 1. The v***s will continue to spread out to the suburbs, smaller towns and cities and rural areas over the weeks after that. We do not have the massive testing that is needed for everyone in the state. We don't know who is safe and who should be quarantined to help not spread the v***s.
But, we will open, beginning this Friday, with more types of businesses and restaurants to open next week.
What will you do when this comes to your state, your community? - I can't believe it. I know people will get sick and some will die. - My wife and I have agreed to social distancing and to wear masks and gloves for the forseeable future - no matter what we are doing outside. We wore gloves and masks when we went to a nearby park this last weekend to enjoy and photograph a little of the new spring season. This will become our 'new normal.'
BTW - I have not seen masks or gloves for sale in any retail store, grocery or drug store that I have visited.
Everyone must decide how much risk they are willing to take. Government policies notwithstanding, each must decide on their own. For me, I will stay self-isolated until I am antibody positive based on a highly reliable test, or new cases in my region fall below 5 per day and remain there for 14 days.
Stay healthy and stay safe
I plan on doing the same as I have for the last month.
This reopening is just plan scary to me, as my wife and I are in the high risk category.

This Friday, the Governor of Georgia will begin to... (

I'm in Canada where federal and provincial governments are being very cautious about how and when the country will get moving again. In the US where the p******c is much more serious and advanced, I believe any state governor who thinks it's time to start reopening is asking for trouble. Any resident who thinks it's OK to get out and about again is risking other people's lives, not just their own. Common sense should prevail but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be true of certain people in elected positions. God help us all!

You've heard the saying - "You can't fix stupid" - well, C***D19 appears to be fixing it - the problem is the innocents that are the collateral damage...
I think it's too soon and we're going to have a second peak. Social avoidance is my personal plan intil this is OVER.
It is regrettable, but I think it is premature to re-open businesses. Hopefully, I am wrong, but I fear this move will increase infections, and resulting deaths. Nothing about the v***s has changed—-it has not gone away.
Given the option, I would stay home for a few more weeks to see which way the wind blows.
My wife and I are high risk individuals.
It's a tough choice. Do we continue the stay in place and risk no one having a job to go back to much less money to pay for essentials or do we go out and risk getting this disease. Seems the vast majority of people are asymptomatic. In Wisconsin, their Dept of Public Health has seen no increase in cases due to the recent in-person v****g, so draw your own conclusions. As for myself, I'll still "shelter in place" for at least a few more weeks as I am at a higher risk. The government will not be able to fund us much longer as they have no tax incoming revenues, thus a partial reopening seems feasible. I have read articles on both sides of this and it's still an uncertain situation...
I, for one, decided early not to take the chicken little approach...........I'm 70+ with so many underlying issues that my doctors estates in the islands. That said, running scared has never been as attribute that I've cherished. That also said, I have a healthy respect for the concerns of others and will never disparage those concerns and that said...........don't tell how live my life.
If someone has to do this experiment of opening again before the experts say it is safe, I'm glad it's a state far from mine. I'm hoping it won't surge again there.

It will if people get lax.
NOT 100% back to normal yet.
I knew a young man who developed high blood pressure. Upon his doctor’s advice he reluctantly began taking daily blood pressure medication.
Son of a gun, his blood pressure stabilized at a normal level. So, he thinks, my blood pressure is now normal, I am a healthy young man—I shouldn’t have to take medication any more.
He stopped taking the medication, and lived a healthy life from that point forward.
Works for the governor of Georgia.

Why be NOɹW∀˥?
Just a quick note... I have noticed on the few times I have been out they there are a lot of people who are not social distancing, wearing masks or gloves. That includes my next door neighbor and the neighbor next to him... Their kids are always playing together and the adults had a party over the weekend. That said, I do live in a kind of rural area...
