Nice photo! Those rocks/stones look like they were put there by humans.
Earth's rotational forces, coupled with tidal action and the mass of a large continent, such as Africa, create these piles of stones naturally. Humans duplicate this in other geographical locations that do not possess the above combination of features.

Up in the north rocky parts of Minnesota you see little piles all over. They mark paths for getting around.
