Hi everyone,
I hope this finds all of you healthy and doing well. Saturday, Caiden (my 12.5 yr. old Aussie) was outside for a bit and decided to stop and take a moment to enjoy the sunshine. He's had arthritis in his hips since he was a pup and was diagnosed with Muscle Atrophy last year. There are days when it's hard to see him struggle and fall down, thinking he is still that wild little puppy who could run all over the house and jump over Karma without giving it any thought. He still tries to do acrobatics with results that end up with his back end going one way, while he is trying to go in the opposite direction. That's when he gets a gentle pat on the head with a "bud, you have to slow down and remember, you can't do tricks like that anymore" Breaks my heart, but on the days when he can go out and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine on his aching bones, I know we are doing all that we can right now.

That he is Stan! He is loved very, very much. Now those puppy years, that is a story in itself
but he is a good guy♥
He is a very handsome guy.

Many thanks NMGal! I think out of all the dogs we have had, Caiden is the most handsome one. I've loved them all and they've all had their own beauty, but there is just something about Caiden (of course I'm a bit biased
)
In spite of his health problems, Caiden is a beautiful boy, Debbie, and your portrait of him is precious! It's so very hard to see a beloved pet in pain, but it's a blessing to know that they seem to still enjoy life as long as they can spend time with their loved ones.

Thank you Donna, we are just taking it a day at a time. He does have some good days, and for a while was spending a lot of time in the bedroom during the day, but hubby says he's coming back out again, so that's a good sign
We have him on two different pain meds, but he still does a lot of moaning and groaning laying down and getting back up. He does love to be outside though on good days, so we'll take all of the good days we can get ♥ ♥

It sure shows how much he is loved Caiden is a truly handsome boy
Lovely picture of Caiden Debbie, I am so pleased he is enjoying the sun.. Its such a shame when they can't do what they want to do. Its the same with Woody my J R who is 17 year old this year. Happy to lay in the sun and sleep.. How is Caidens sight and hearing? Woody has not much of either left but gets around and still puts Blue in his place...
