Resizing a photo

I would like to enter a contest that Sigma is sponsoring on photos from home, however I am over my head when it comes to the specifications on size. I have spent days reading how to and I never seem to get it correct. The specifications say the image must be 25MB and .jpg format with 3000x2000 maximum resolution. Can anyone dumb down a process to achieve this.

Contest rules state files must under 25 mb. What is your camera and what software do you have available to re-size?

You can post a photo in this thread for detailed instructions. Click REPLY, write a sentence, then click choose file, then check the box "store original," then click add attachment, then send.

First it doesn't say under it say 25 mb. My camera is a Nikon D850 and I have Lightroom and Photoshop.

I found where that unfortunate typo is written. Here is where it says "under"

Many cameras don't produce jpgs that are 25 mb and it would be impossible to make a file exactly that size. So forget that part

The 3000x2000 can be accomplished this way.

1. Crop your photo to 4x6 aspect if it's not already.
2. When exporting in LR, plug in the 3000 x 2000 numbers. Here's an article:

I don't use LR or PS, so others may have a simpler way.

First off getting a Jpeg file size over 15MB would be hard to do unless you were shooting with a 50MP full frame sensor. RAW files with edits sure.
Linda's question about editing software is important to answer further. That being said 25MB is a huge jpeg file. Your image is probably way under that and you should be able to determine that by looking at the image properties.

I will give it a try. May I ask what software you use?

If your question is for me, I use PS Elements.

Yes Linda it was. I've never posted before so I'm out of my element.

Another user commented just as you asked the question, so I wanted to be sure Using the "quote reply" button inserts the comment of the person you are addressing - very helpful when topics become longer.

Hopefully, what we've said will get you on the right track. Check back in if not, and a LR user will be along to assist.

Can you add that photo to this thread? (I included instructions in my first reply to you, but it was a belated edit - sorry!)

You need to click the "store original" box before clicking "add attachment" so that we can see the data within. Thanks!

Also, the photo you posted is not a 4x6 aspect. See my additional comments on page 2 of this thread.
