I know that everyone has their favorite for a "Most Beautiful" designation. Here is mine. This is the Barcelona Pala de la Musica Catalana concert hall. Ideally I would like to photograph a venue like this when no one is there but as a tourist that rarely works out. I positioned myself in the balcony and caught this small group in a rehearsal. The lighting was quite a challenge as when I took the shot in 2013 I did not have the skill set to maximize the unbelievable design of this space. Also, what I think that makes the shot work is the symmetry in the photo. There are so many features to be balanced on both sides of the image that it wouldn't work without a certain balance and harmony. There are still distortions but I still don't have the expertise to make it perfect. (My favorite part of the photo is the detail in the sky light.)
That's a great shot of a very beautiful building. But it looks like the acoustics would be less than desired for a concert hall. The people add perspective to the shot, especially the two set back from the others. Thanks for posting this.

Breathtaking! Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks Dan. As I am severely hearing impaired, I hadn't thought about the acoustics but you are probably right. I thought about cloning out the lady walking up the aisle but couldn't make up my mind so I left her in.

Thanks for your comment. Lots of time to kill and engaging in a little photo talk goes a long way to fill the day.
That is a great photo. It definitely does the building justice.
It does seem to be a bit tilted to the right, though. That is minor considering the beauty captured.

Thanks Bob. The photo is so complex it was hard to judge just which lines would yield the most level image. These is probably some lens distortion involved and I just don't know enough to compensate.
Beautiful shot! Get David from Dallas to contribute some of his music hall shots.

I'll keep an eye out for him.
It's a beautiful hall.
As a retired professional musician... I've played in all kinds of halls around this country and in Salzburg, Austria where I did a year of study. Some halls were beautiful and some were ugly. Some had wonderful acoustics and some were lousy. My point is...
you can not look at a picture and decide what kind of sound you'd have if you played there. On tour... when we'd drive at a new hall.... the first thing we'd do is to walk to the front of the stage (or performing area) and clap our hands a few times. se listened... not looked.
If you ever played in the concert hall (on the second floor of the bank)in Troy, NY... you'd be horrified how run down it looked... not painted, etc. Then you'd play and think you were in acoustical heaven.
Be careful about judging a book by its cover.

Hard for any building to stand out in a city dominated by Gaudà but the music hall is certainly a rival. Here is a close-up shot of the stage shot a few years ago - Nikon P900 sooc jpeg.
Hi. David here. I really don't have many shots of concert halls, and I don't think I have any that would be worth posting here.
The OP hall is incredibly beautiful and nicely rendered.
I did find this one

Very nice picture. I would not advertise your perceptions of what's wrong. It is a very nice picture.
