Hi ya'll.
Hope this finds everyone healthy.
I am interested in how others store there camera gear.
I currently have 2 DSLR bodies and 8 lenses.
I store them in 1 pelican case (both boodies and 3 lenses)
1 backpack style (4 lenses)
All the rest in plastic ziplocks in a box under my bed.
I have a unique situation,,sort of.
I live in a large rv with slideouts, (dusty)
Strike 1
I smoke cigars (only outside and never when i have camera gear out)
Strike 2
I have a wolf and a great dane.
Strike 3 (uh-oh)
Everything is stored under the bed, which i lined and installed a seal along the edges to hopefully keep the dog hairs and dust out of there. (Bed lifts up to a large storage area).
Despite all my precautions a couple days ago i noticed a tiny dog hair on the camera end of one of my lenses.
I carefully check each piece before using but am still concerned about dust and tiny hairs i might miss.
So,,,,, any sugestions on better storage?
What do you use?
I have no room for a cabinet.
Am thinking of putting the lenses and bodies in ziplocks also.
Thanks

Assuming keeping caps on bodies & lens sounds like you are doing fairly good. I find cans of compressed air for spraying prior to use my friend!!!

Mine is in one or two camera bags in the closet.
Been doing that for over 45 years, including 27 in Florida.
Never any problem.

I would store it in a large plastic bag with a ziplock under the bed. Each item stored should be in ziplock plastic bags. My 2 cents.

I would suggest some kind of moisture absorber for each bag and airtight case, weather changes could cause condensation in a sealed area. B&H has small ones for approx. $9 or $10, I found the same thing at a sporting goods store for $5 each. They can be "re-charged" in the oven when they become saturated, and have a color indicator to tell you when they are.

Thank you for the replies.
I now have a plan.
Ordered 2 dozen reusable moisture absorbers and will be headed to walmart when they open for many more ziplocks.

Have you ever had issue with Humidity in Florida, especially in the Summer months? I am from Michigan, thinking of moving to Florida near New Smyrna Beach, I am 70 now and Sick of the Michigan Winters.

This is all I have ever used, and, it goes on sale about twice a year, about 50% off the list.

Ditto on billnikon's recommendation for Ruggard dry cabinets. They come in various sizes (I have the 80 liter), and go on sale a few times a year.

Adorama has its own brand of electronic storage cabinets called Slinger. It regulates the temperate and internal humidity, I have an 85L cabinet, now on sale for 199. It holds three camera bodies including a 1DSIII, a 5dsr and an EOS R. 7 lenses, four flashes and assorted other items. It works well and is well built.

No.
The A/C was on basically from April to November. Heat December through February or March.
When it was nice, the windows were open. Sometimes we ran the heat one day and the A/C the next.
I used to live in Central Florida, just southwest of New Smyrna about 40 miles as the crow flies.
It IS a bit cooler, maybe 5°, on the coast.

Believe me, you'll just trade heating for A/C, and after a few years you'll be wearing ski jackets at 60° just like the locals.

I moved back to PA because I missed the four seasons, and it took over ten years to reacclimate to the cooler weather.

I use Ruggard Cabinet 80 to store 3 camera bodies and 13 lenses.

Unused stuff in a plastic bin in the attic, very dry, not too hot ever. Attic is actually the old maids quarters.
Other items as decorations in my office or "Sarah's" room or the reading room, the modern stuff 1 body and a few lenses in the backpack ready to go all the time.
I do not sweat it and no problems ever yet.

Lucky.
Can't do that in Florida! The attic gets to 140°, even with ridge vents. Kills (bakes) just about anything in it.
Metal can be stored up there.
