with just a little more HDR tweaking these cars would almost be invisible

I to like HDR.
They certainly are vibrant, and I am sure many people will like these as they are nice shots.
For me they appear "a little overcooked"

Thank you all for the input. My first attempt at HDR looks like I totally over did the effect. I just pretty much stayed with the presets from Photomatix and didn't tweak it at all. However that's the reasoning for posting, to learn right..... thanks again guys. Just joined this forum a couple days ago and thus far enjoying it very much.

The capture (#3) of the boy looking at the '56 is very haunting - you caught him looking, and imagining himself in that car. Love it! While some are overdone, easy fixes if you choose to change any. Love HDR because it gives options. Your shots capture the moment, and that's what truly matters.

I have not used HDR from my camera, but I thought it was for looking at something as you would see it in eyesight. I thought HDR was for two or more shots and then combining them so it would seem as though you were looking at it. The shots are interesting, but is it HDR as I understand it?

I like them! HDR is just a different form of digital art. Some like it some don't .
Then again some like Picasso and some don't. 3 and 4 are my favorite.

HDR is a matter of taste, if you like these then you and I share the same in this taste. I really like these pics and the HDR treatment that you have done. Wouldn't change a thing. Just like a grill is a method of cooking steaks, not everyone wants theirs 'raw' where you can't tell if it was cooked or not, some will prefer them well done...very nice set!!!

I too have been experimenting with this process... and, "usually", I like overcooked despite being "told off" by the far more competent photographers than I in here .... but even I would say these are overcooked ... Except that pile of junk in the shape of a VW bug that should be overcooked far far more than it is ... cook it (cremate even) into oblivion! ... that one should never ever be parked next to those other wonderful vehicles IMO... who let that into the show!... (Beetles are the bottom of the list for me) ... I detest the darn things..

This type of "imagery" is fine ... it can be good fun too and that's what its all about ... so in that respect they are cool ... but personally I don't see them as photographs ...

:| ... but enjoy your camera and the prosessing .. post more! (but not Beetles as they raise my blood pressure)..

.. just my worthless opinion...

Gary ;-)

;) ... its OK as he is looking at a decent car in the 55 Chev (not 56).... But if I caught my son looking at a Beetle I would have to give him a slap around the head with a large wet fish.... for his own good !
