So what are people using? I’m looking for a cloud-based option that would allow me to share photos with family and friends. I’m primarily a Lightroom user, if that matters.

What do you recommend? I’ve used Flickr in the past — are there better options now?

I like Flickr. At 1000 image for free, it works good for sharing, even with ads on the free accounts. The pro accounts is reasonably (enough) priced if you use it a lot.

I cant recommend SlicPic highly enough.
I used the free version for a year or 2 then opted for some more features as views went up (even tho it was only intended for family and friends) so now pay about $1 per week.
Also very helpful and fast help for someone who didnt know what he was doing at first.
And even tho its SlicPic hosted etc you can have your own website address like I have.

I haven’t used Flickr in years but was just thinking about it again and then just now I remembered that Adobe has some options that are included in the subscription. I’m not sure what the limitations are. I wonder if anyone here has used it.

The link worked for me. And convinced me it’s not what I’m looking for.

Dropbox.
You can send a link to your folder with the pictures you want to share.

If you are a Microsoft user then you have Free OneDrive account good for 5GB and it works excellently.
I subscribe to the use Excel and word on my Mac and this gives me a free 1 TB OneDrive account. One cannot beat the price or the service.

Dropbox (has a free account) is good for sharing photos with friends and relatives. Dropbox can handle any file, not just photos.

Flickr (has a free account) is good for sharing photos with friends and relatives, but can also show your photos to everyone else (you can set permissions to public or private or friends). Also includes forums for exchange of information. Flickr is photos only.

Flickr isn't bad. I was having a problem sending photos of city parks for a job I was doing for a city. My son heard I was having a problem and told me about Dropbox. He said he used for contracts and other things he did for his company. I went in and being the dummy I am couldn't figure it out. He came over and walked me through it and it turned out to be a really good way to send and share my photos. Give it a look see. Thanks

I have been a Flickr subscriber for many years and currently have about 45,000 photos hosted there. I like the hierarchical structure available for organizing photos there. Lightroom also has a function that directly uploads photos from it to Flickr (and to SmugMug) and I like that, too. My church uses SmugMug, so I use Lightroom to process my photos to both hosts.
