Luke Cube 2.0

I was thinking of picking up a Lume Cube 2.0 with the idea of having it in a pocket for side lighting macro shots, where sunlight would be the main light. It was mentioned in another thread so I wondered if anyone has used it. Another possible use would be an on camera fill light for people's faces in outdoor shots.

Anyone use it?

They work very well for macro shots--easy to position for best lighting.

Yes. I used it when doing macro indoors. It works really well. Haven’t used it outside or at any distance so I don’t know how far it will throw the light.

I have one and found it very useful in taking macro shoots indoors, I would assume it would be as helpful outside. It is a useful tool to have in your photo bag.

With the barn door attachment it is a good fill for interior portraits but it is not powerful enough for outside fills.

There is or was a company called Morris that makes a variety of small strobes. they use double or triple A'a generally. Have a built in slave and ready light also. Cheap too!

They have a 30 day trial so I think I'll try it. I like the small size and hopefully big light.

I use it often on macro shots (indoors). I use different color filters on the cube and they all work fantastic.

I was going to buy one the other day but the owner of YM Camera talked me into getting a Litrapro - a bit more expensive but with greater functionality. I'm still in the playing around stage but am initially impressed.
