I have never seen a squirrel do that. Could be common and I just haven't seen it. Nice captures.

They chew on the side of my roof to get into my attic the same beaver chewing way. They are a rodent but the city won’t let me shoot and kill them. I don’t know which is worse the crowded deer population or the over population of squirrels in the neighborhood.

I’ve been seriously thinking of doing the same. The only reason I haven’t is I’m afraid my neighbors would call the police on me.

I’ll have to look into that. They have cost me a lot of money between the trimming of tree branches away from the house, reattaching of my gutters to the roof and repairing the holes they chewed into the side of my roof. So what do they do??? They crawl up my downspouts now. I’m sick of them.

Another way is to trap them in a small have a heart trap, then shoot them.
Not nearly as effective.

I'm with you. I am NOT a big squirrel fan. they chew on my house and porch screens. If you feed the birds buy the anti squirrel feeders that actually work. Too many people acquiesce and allow the population to explode.
