I'm hoping some members can recommend an app for combining digital photographs into collages with these features in mind:
- for Mac
- with click-and-drag features for sizing
- with the capability of using different formats (e.g., vertical and horizontal overall; accommodating a range of numbers of photos
- preferably inexpensive, say under $100
- [less important] options for spaces in between imported photos (e.g., color or white, possibly placing an overall photo as a background color and placing other photos on top)
- [less important, but desirable for some projects: the ability to rotate photos in a collage at different angles
- saves or can export to save as a common format like jpg or pdf
- and it would be a great bonus if it's a program that would allow me to do a simple drawing on top of part of the collage.
I'm looking for two main uses: putting groups of related photos together to sell for different purposes, and the possibility of photographing eBay items into a collage that would allow me to cross out individual parts that have sold.
I know. I'm asking for quite a lot in this collaging program! Joan

Turbo Collage (check the App Store) does most of that. Not sure about drawing or x'ing over.

Far and away the best collage software I have seen (and use) is FotoFusion by LumaPix. Not inexpensive at $200, but there's very little it can't do.

You already have an app on your MAC. Keynote is an excellent app for making collages and does all the tasks you mention. On YouTube a video by Macmost provides some basic instructions. There are probably other videos to guide you. I use this app and it works veery well for my collages.
Affinity Photo does collages quite nicely. You can do bordered or borderless. I believe it's on sale now for 39.95
In the past when I was creating collages for the Ernest Tubb Record Shop's Midnite Jamboree page, I simply used Picasa 3. It is free and did a remarkable job. (The E.T. page has been redesigned and those are no longer there.)
I really appreciate all of these tips -- thanks! I'll start with the Keynote that's already on my Mac and the free ...mosaic softwares. I use Pages & Numbers often, but haven't generated any new files with Keynote. And I'll work my way "up" to the paid programs if needed. This is all very helpful information!
