Greetings from Indy in isolation!
I have been shooting since I was 10 with a Brownie, then a 124 format that I won in a coloring contest as a child. First real camera in ‘85 a Canon T 70 with a 24-105 Vivitar. Then my older brother loaned on long term some of his Nikon equipment. Last film camera were a N90S and a F100. Met Moose Peterson when he was introducing the ‘new’ D1.
I was hooked on digital. Currently use a D500 for wildlife using the Sigma 150-600 Sport and the Nikon Z 7. Slowly acquiring Z mount lenses. Kept all my older F mount lenses. Now my focus is landscape, macro (flowers and butterflies). Want to explore astrophotography, went to Wyoming for the eclipse and was able to capture a decent set of images. Also captured the Milky Way but those needed real work. I like this forum for its critiques not criticism. I submitted a few captures of our amaryllis. The critiques were well received. Looking forward to viewing and submitting images. Enjoy life, capture life, share life!

Welcome aboard.I am a Nikon shooter interested in Astro photography. Did some last year in Taos, New Mexico. Learned about patience as the clouds rolled it. Hope to do more this Spring and summer.
Welcome, the D810A is geared to astro photography but not recommended for normal photography. I think Canon also makes one for astro photography.
Welcome. You have a wide genre interest which should keep you busy for some time.

Welcome on board! We are so close! I am from Bloomington. My setup is for my interest in bird and other wildlife and natures. Occasionally, I also shoot astrophotos with my Nikkor 800mm and D500 or D850. For flowers and butterflies, I use Nikkor 70-200mm (newest version) and Nikkor 105mm macro. For birds, I use Nikkor 200-400/F4, Nikkor 500mm F5.6/PF or even 800mm. My Nikkor D4S is retiring because I use D500/D850 more. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I too will be working on Astrophotography in the near future. Three things you will need for your quest: A good sturdy tri-pod, a good wide angle lens (14mm) is used quite often. I have the 14-24 Nikon but Rokinon makes a 14mm a lot of people use, and really dark skies. If you can locate a dark sky park it would be best. There are a number of those throughout the US. Here in PA we have one that is north and east of Pittsburg called Cherry Valley. It is about 4 hours from where I live and without heading out west into "big sky country" is probably my best bet at getting Milky Way shots. Check Utube as there are a number of excellent videos on how to shoot the Milky Way. I wish you the best with your shooting and your time with UHH.
