Hi Earl I buy from Adorama mostly just out of habit. They seem honest and have anything you need. As you know I use T7i. My lens’s are mostly Tamron they are usually within my budget. Canon L is best but mostly too expensive. My go to is Tamron 24 -70 2.8. Also use Canon Eos 18-135., Tamron 70-200 f2.8 also
Tamron 100-400 and Tamron 150-600. The last is good for birding or wildlife. Have a couple others but they are the most used. Next time I see you you can take and experiment with any of them. You may also need monopod. Lightweight quick set up. Your Alaska pics are great. Stay safe.

Hey Uncle! I know we talked about that before. I think I will look into buying used lenses as well. I think a monopod might be a good idea, tripods can be cumbersome.

You should be able to edit JPEGs, TIFFs, and send to external applications.

Be sure to read the manual, especially the parts about color management configuration.

Before you change color or brightness or contrast or any of those things, be sure your monitor is calibrated with a hardware and software kit (from X-Rite or Datacolor). Otherwise, prints could look wEiRd.

I haven't used Canons or DPP in a while, so if anyone here uses the current version, chime in...

Thanks Burk!

thank you for the very informative post. I know the D5600 is on another level completely. Like I said, I think I have too much time on my hands lately :) I'm gonna stick with this starter T7 and see where it takes me. thanks again for all the good info!

We took a drive to lake Patagonia today just to get out, and of course I took the camera to practice. Not sure if it's ok to post pics here or in another thread, but anyway..here they are.
