This sits on top of a light pole. Looks like there is an antenna on it.

Looks like a cellular phone antenna. Means whoever owns the pole/easement gets rent!

It's probably one of the high freq 5G data antennas. The high freq requires more antennas due to shorter range. They should be all over the place in dense metro areas. They also have devices allowing cameras to be remotely activated and viewed, strobe based light controller are a smaller sensor usually directly by the light itself allowing fire trucks to force cycle the light to green.

Could also be either a patrol camera or a solar charger for the light

Might also be a PPC antenna. PPC was touted as the urban solution to the difficulty of get cell tower space in cities.

They are all over now, its 5G and more. like crowd controll and phone tracking. Being ever so quietly deployed under the radar as the people have other things to think about unfortunately. Its a big brother and growing bigger by the day.....

How else are we going to communicate with the “Mother Ship?”
I’ve seen things like this before on my home planet.

Not sure where you are but several local agencies have mounted them through a third party provider to created a network for the Police/Fire/Public Works mobile computers. Also provides accurate location data for the vehicles so the closest units can be dispatched to emergencies.
