I'm not a birder, but...

For the past week, this guy has been a regular visitor at our birdbath. Today my wife was sitting out on the deck when he arrived and settled in. The birdbath is about 10-feet from where she was sitting. She texted me, and I went outside, through the sliding screen door, walked about six feet to the railing, and took about 10 photos of him with my iPhone. He noticed me right away but stayed where he was, occasionally turning his head to check me out. I'm not sure what kind of hawk he is.

I'm thinking it's a Coopers Hawk. They prey on smaller birds and rodents.

I think it is a Cooper's Hawk and a young one because of the yellow eyes.

My guess is a Rough-Legged hawk.

Yes, young Cooper's hawk (yellow eyes, brown striped breast). They often hang out around feeders or birdbaths to feed on the visitors.
