I went a long time before I got a good shot at a Cardinal that wasn’t on a feeder. Suddenly, I got shots two days in a row. Which do you like most?

Both are great, I am partial to the second one, facing you. Good color, clarity , detail.

#1, the bird in #1 is sharper and shows more detail, #2 is slightly soft over all.

Both are excellent!! I'm still trying for my first good shot. To me the color in the second one is more true to the ones I've seen. However, the head is a little out of focus, therefore I'd say the first one. Color can be adjusted if you like, but okay as is. Also the branch seems more in proportion to a small bird giving lightness to the overall photo.

Thanks, #2 was quite a bit further away and was cropped much more.

I very much appreciate your observation and will tweak the color just a tad. As I commented to a previous post, the second one was cropped a good bit and was much further away.

#2 is soft. Looks maybe like some motion blur. #1 is very nice.
