Cabin fever has me tuning up old images from a Zion trip I made in 2018. This is a panoramic shot on a 5D4 with 50mm lens at f-4. 6-7 vertical shots stitched. I burned to sky using a mask layer to avoid darkening the ridge line.

I was there over 20 years ago in the film era. One day I would love to return to see what I missed.

Your photo is awesome. The road with some cars on it shows the epic scale of the scene!

This is magnificent. Do you remember where this is and how to get there? My wife and I will be starting our 50 state tour this Fall, assuming it's safe, and I'd love to put it on our bucket list.

Thanks everyone for nice comments. I think this is the Canyon Overlook Trail. If I have it right it’s a short 1/2 mile hike from the road. We were there in March before the crowds and before the shuttle service was required to get around the park. Parking is limited everywhere so I highly recommend a winter or early spring visit.

Great pano. I remember standing in almost the exact same place early one morning in 2018 as well. The trail is really fun to walk in the dark!

Yes, This was taken from the Canyon Overlook Trail. It is outside the area of the shuttle buses. As you drive uphill and exit the last tunnel the trail head is on the left and a small parking lot is on the right. Get there early as parking is very limited and Zion is very popular (crowded). If you are fortunate to be there after a rain be sure to hike the Emerald Pools trail. The trail allows you to walk behind the waterfall and makes for some great photos.

Here are a couple of my photos from Zion.

Superb! One of my favorite places. Your photo takes me there again! I'm actually working on a painting of "The Sentinel".
